On January 30, 1950, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (Soviet Union) officially established diplomatic relations. Vietnam and Russia have a close relationship in terms of education and military cooperation. In the past, the Soviet Union helped Vietnam train nearly 40,000 highly skilled professionals in various fields. Due to historical factors, the Vietnamese community (around 60-80 thousand people) has existed and worked in Russia for nearly two decades.

Additionally, Russia is the largest country in the world, covering an area of 17,075,400 square kilometers. Russian culture has developed significantly, making it an attractive destination for tourism and foreign nationals, including those from Vietnam.

Currently, Vietnam and Russia maintain this relationship, with evidence of an increasing number of Vietnamese laborers being sent to Russia. The proportion of investment from the Russian government and businesses in Vietnam is also on the rise.

Despite the strong diplomatic ties between the two nations, the most significant barrier in trade and communication remains the language barrier. This is why Russian translation services have become prevalent and continue to grow in Vietnam.
